Mikes work...

Mike has continued to work on Keira's room in his limited spare time. Its really crazy how much work there is to do up there! I think if we had known it was this in depth we might have thought twice.. haha.. although Keira really needs a playroom so we need to move her upstairs. Anyways Mike has been re-framing most of the room as some of the wood is brittle/cracked etc. He also raised the ceiling in the room 12 inches!!! Which makes the room look and feel alot less crowded and alot less like an attic bedroom.

The dipes

So if you remember what the diapers looked like before... Here they are all fluffed up and shrunk up... 3 washings so far. They recommend 5-10 washings to get them at maximum absorbency. I feel like I am wasting water washing them .. so I figure 1-2 more washes and then I am going to try them on Keira. More pics to follow.

Isaac turns 2!!

Keira's cousin Isaac turned 2 so we spent the afternoon at his birthday party. Keira had a blast playing with all their outdoor toys.

Its a bit long at 2 min but you can hear a few of her words. She is always such a chatterbox and as soon as I pull out the camera she gets all quiet!!!

Beans and Diapers

Keira's bean face. Yup that would be cold refried beans on her face.
She licked it off the spoon like it was chocolate!
My diapers arrived!!!! These are Indian pre-folds. They look rather large and flat here. You have to wash them 5+ times before using to strip the fabric of its oils . They shrink and get more absorbent and soft the more you wash them..... or something like that. So take note of how they look here and Ill post a pic after a few washings and you will be amazed at the difference.

Cheerios.... Life's most basic necessity if you are a toddler.

Its almost the end of summer and Keira's 12 month Capri's still fit like pants!!!!

awww- sweet sticky fruit leather. My favorite food... I get to eat it and walk all over the house touching everything in sight and making the whole house sticky. Mama loves it when I do that!!!

Mike had my camera at work all day yesterday so I didn't take one picture all day. Blogging without pictures is lame so I didn't even bother since there was nothing exciting going on anyways. Mike took the lenses apart to try and clean it... so far so good.

Good bye Granpa

Today Keira and I went to Warner to visit Pa since he is leaving for Wyoming Thursday and will be there until Christmas.

As you can tell from these pictures there is something stuck on the camera lens.... which is bad bad news. We have 2 lenses for this camera and one won't focus.. we think there is sand in the lenses and the other one ( this one) has something stuck in it.. see the black line in most of the pics? I might bring the camera to the local Ritz camera store and see if they can give me an estimate for cleaning the lenses.

Cloth dipes day 1

Okay... aren't these dipes adorable???? Today was Keira's first day in cloth diapers. She wasn't in cloth for he whole day but most of it. These aren't my diapers- Mine are still in the mail somewhere. Christina is kind enough to let me borrow a few of hers so I can try out a few different kinds. Some I loved and some I hated!!!! But man are they cute! My very handy mother in law took one look at one of the snazzy expensive cloth diapers that I love and made me one in one day!!!!!!! Thanks Memere!
