Keira update

Keira has Bronchilolitis... (sp?) basically just a viral cold. The doctor said its everywhere and in epidemic proportions right now. He didn't bother to test her for RSV because basically its the same thing and has the same treatment.. as in no treatment because its viral. Just in time for our trip to IA... Now I have to find room in my packed suitcase for a Nebulizer..... He gave us the Nebulizer because Keira is still wheezing and given that Mike has asthma there is a pretty good chance she will have it too... Keira is NOT a fan of the Neb. We will have to post a pic of it later. Its a challenge to do it because you have to hold the mask near her face so she can breath in the meds.The good news is Keira isn't acting sick and doesn't look sick. When we went to get the medicine for the Nebulizer at Target Keira was sitting in her stroller babbling and laughing and the pharmacist said.. "Well you don't look sick!!"
And yes in the picture below Keira's socks do match her shirt.

Keira is going to the doctor today for her first sick visit. Not to bad considering she is 7.5 months old. She has a cold but last night she started wheezing. We called the doctor and ended up giving her some of Mike's Albuterol Inhaler. We will see what they say when we bring her in....

More white stuff....

As in Spit-up and Snow!!! Take 2 for solids failed. Keira had some oatmeal and applesauce this morning and has spit up so many times I lost track... (sigh) Back to Breast milk) And yes we have another Nor'ester. I am guessing we have at least 8 inches of snow on the ground and its still coming down. Better today than Thursday I guess.. (when Keira and I head to IA) Keira amused herself this morning with my hairbrush while I made some meals for the freezer for Mike to eat while we are gone.

Spit up news..

So since Keira didn't spit up once Friday.... Sat I gave her a few pieces of my Quesadilla ( just the tortilla part) and she did spit up a little bit after that. Today I gave her some toast this am and a few bites of an orange... and she spit up maybe three times today. We have decided to try giving her a few things and keep a food diary to see if anything triggers more spitting up or not... but not till I get back from Iowa and by then she will be about 8 months old. Stay tuned!!! :o)

Just another Sunday.

We took Uncle Peter to the airport this morning so he can go back to Franciscan University. Uncle Peter was trying to play with Keira but she was not amused by him, his hat or his antics!!!!

A new Milestone

Thursday I took Keira to the chiroprator for a spine adjustment. Friday she did not spit up once all day!!!! She hasn't done that since maybe the first day she was born. Of course today she woke up with a mucousy cough and has spit up maybe 2 times already... We can't help but hope that she will stop spitting up soon so that we can feed her solid food.

This is Keira medicated with Motrin and teething tablets. Its amazing she is smiling.. as she has been whining/crying all morning. She won't let me see her gums but with several trys I was able to feel her gums and there is a little something razor sharp there. So perhaps one of her teeth is actually making some progress to becoming a tooth instead of a bump on her gum as it has been for MONTHS now?? We remain hopeful....

I got friends.....

Keira and Rosie spent about 10 min taking this bow from each other. Rosie would grab it and then Keira would grab it back- It was funny. At one point they both had a piece of it in their mouths!! Below Keira and Sarah ready to go for a walk with us mama's.
