Sleep sack

I bought Keira a new sleep sack. In case you don't know what a sleep sack is... its a wearable blanket. She won't stay under the blankets and its getting chilly around here! She wore them last winter but has outgrown them. They make ones with feet but I couldn't find them anywhere around here except online and I didn't want to pay a shipping charge so she got the kind without the feet. She doesn't seem to be a big fan so far. I got her an extra- large ( up to 35 lbs) so I don't have to buy another one next winter. Its obviously huge on her but I am glad that she will be warmer at night.

Fall colors

Some pretty fall leaves Keira and I found this morning while Keira was playing outside. We were having a good time outside... K was running around and I was doing some weeding. I was turned the other way and next thing I knew Keira had hit me over the head with a big rock!!!! She loves rocks and plays with them alot and just recently started hitting. I was seeing stars for a min! After that we came inside! Violent child!

Drywall

Here is a few pics midday yesterday... its coming along nicely. Mike parents are helping so things are moving a bit faster. Sorry the pics are a bit dark. The camera always seems to focus on the window!

Next step

Tomorrow Mike and his dad are going to start dry walling Keira's new room to be which makes us one step closer to having a playroom just in time for the winter. The reason for the delay was that Mike hates drywall and wanted to get a quote to hire someone to do it. The quote came back at more than we want to spend on drywall ( we would rather spend it on new windows) so Mike and his dad are going to do it. We will post pics of the progress tomorrow of course!!

Cook out

I am in a Woman's Bible study that meets once a month. Today we had a cookout with our hubby's and kids. The kids played outside for hours and the adults chatted and ate and ate and ate some more. We all had a great time. Thanks Sullivans!

Allergy update

Keira's long awaited allergy appointment is Oct 27th. I decided to try her with all the foods that offended her just so I could give the Dr an update problem list in case she has outgrown her issues with wheat, dairy and soy.
I haven't given her cows milk to drink but she has had cheese, yogurt, cream cheese, sour cream and things with milk in them- Her old reaction to dairy was a red diaper rash and spitting up with wheat and soy. For about a week now we have been giving her wheat, dairy, and soy... the first day with the dairy she got the red red diaper rash she always gets and then it was gone the next day and hasn't returned.... Not sure if the cloth diapers have anything to do with it. She has spit up just once in the past week. If I feel brave enough I might try her with straight cows milk or soy milk... probably soy. She does now get a rash around her mouth at almost every meal now though..... ( see pics)
Not sure what all this means.... but I am eagerly awaiting her appointment with allergy. Since she still wakes up with swollen eyes and allergy symptoms I am also wondering if they will diagnose her with seasonal allergies. We will keep you all posted.

Weekend projects

Mike replaced yet another one of the doors in our house.... here is the new solid wood door ( needs to be stained obviously)

We finally bought some pumpkins and decorated the front and side doors with them. I am trying to get over my mourning of summer and dread of winter and just enjoy fall.... trying is the key word. Hopefully tomorrow I will make an apple pie... food always helps!!!

Its a sad day.

Yesterday we cleaned up the backyard and put away the sandbox, ride on toys, buckets, shovels, table and chairs. All the things we used daily outside in the summer. Gotta get used the inside now. Can you tell I am mourning summer? If anyone knows a good way to entertain a toddler inside in 1000 sq feet for 9 months let me know!

Since I am bored... I decided to try some Halloween costumes on Keira... Thanks to the kind soul who let me borrow them so I didn't have to spend 20 dollars on a costume she may wear for 5 min.

We have a cheetah, a girl pirate, and a giraffe.

okay... I am literally going insane. It has been cloudy and rainy for 1 week straight! That's right no sun!!! Seasonal affective disorder. Why is it such a crime to want to see the sun everyday???? Someone please tell my northeastern husband that there are OTHER places in the us to live. I am NOT going to survive winter. I do like the northeast but come on... its barely October and we have been stuck inside for a week! We all know that Spring doesn't come around here till like May and summer weather doesn't arrive till the end of June. I am thinking a tropical vacation might help a bit.... :o)
I even bought myself a new pair of shoes yesterday and it didn't help much. Where is the SUN!!!

Random stuff

Memere brought over 2 cloth diapers she made for Keira!!! I am excited to try them out. Who knew cloth diapering was going to be so much fun.... and of course you can feel good about yourself because you aren't being wasteful with all those disposables.
Here is Keira all excited because she was able to get the corn flakes out of the pantry by herself. This after eating lunch and a packet of oatmeal that she brought me and insisted that I make. We are slowly eating more food and less breast milk!! Go Keira!!!!

I feel

a bit like Better Crocker or something similar. Its raining - has been since Friday! I am starting to go insane. To make myself feel better I am making comfort food... In the past few days Mike has made cornmeal cookies and no bake cookies . We had baked chicken yesterday for dinner and tonight its meatloaf. And just in case you were in doubt about my being Betty Crocker I made sure to make my meatloaf while wearing my checkered apron. Didn't want to get meat guts on my shirt!!!Good thing I am keeping up the gym workouts... all this comfort food is going to start adding up somewhere.
