Its been a bit crazy around here lately...

Tuesday a few of us woman threw a baby shower for 2 mama's in our

playgroup that are pregnant. We had yummy food and good times. Keira has a bit tired and had her thumb in her mouth the whole time.

Keira's room update

The drywall is done and today the guy comes to mud!!!!!!! Yes Mike hired someone to tape and mud because he HATES drywall and after putting it all up he doesn't want to tape and mud. Getting closer to finishing and having a playroom!!

I left Keira in her room to play while I started supper ( aka 5 min)... she was in just a diaper and a diaper cover. I came back 5 min later and she was NAKED!!!! She had removed the diaper and the cover! It was a velco closure type of cloth diaper so it didn't require that much work but still! Crazy child. She was all proud of herself too.

Keira

Keira has been very into her "be-bee's" lately. She carries them around by their hair, feeds them, says shhhh when they are sleeping and now likes us to swaddle them. Mike showed her the swaddle thing this weekend. She now brings me a baby several thousand times a day and a blanket for me to swaddle it. Then as soon as the baby is swaddled she turns the blanket upside down and shakes the baby out and brings it to me to swaddle again!

Monday bad news

Its Monday so that means bad news of course. I took the Jetta in for inspection this morning and it failed... ( Well it passed the safety part and failed the emission part) Something about the check engine light and a new gas tank cover. Mike is going buy and install a new gas tank cover and hopefully that does the trick. Our cars have been nothing but trouble this year and I am tired of it!!!! Dreaming of a new car(s)!!!
I haven't posted pics of the new back stairs because although they are sort of finished -they aren't really. Mike's saw was giving him issues and refusing to cut a straight 90 degrees.. so a few boards aren't level and he has to go back and fix that as well as add a railing. Mike's dad brought over his saw so hopefully Mike will have better luck with it than he did with his. So we do have new stairs and they do look very nice but they are a bit of a way from being finished.
After 2 years of marriage and then some.. we zeroed out bank account out for the first time last night!! Good thing for savings accounts however meager they are. Ohh the joys of trying to raise a family on one income in the East Coast with a failing economy.
I think that is enough pessimism for one day.

No stairs

Take a good look at these stairs....

They are now a thing of the past. Mike torn them down this morning and will be replacing them....... of course he opened a can of worms... as is always the case with this house! He was just going to replace the top of the stairs and the railing but of course after seeing some rotting wood and the fact that the stairs weren't built right was enough reason to just tear the whole thing down. If you happen to stop by our house this weekend you might want to come to the front door!

Windows

We had Granite State Glass come over yesterday to give us an estimate to replace 8 windows. Our old windows are awful... You can feel the cold air if you sit close to them. Now we anxiously await the quote to come in the mail. We have a feeling we will only be able to afford to do a few windows with them. We will keep you posted.

Lentils

Pizza

Since are letting Keira try most things these days and watching for reactions she had her first taste of pizza. She loved it. She still has a rash all over her face though.
