Baby Alive. We are borrowing a "Baby Alive" doll from a friend and Keira loves it. She feeds it, gives it a bottle and then the baby talks and poops.

diaper stuff

Keira has been back in sposie diapers for a month now... I can't believe how quickly they and the disposable wipes add up! I am determined to get her back to cloth without gagging and throwing up anymore than I already do... so I ordered some flushable liners for the cloth diapers. Hopefully that will allow me to put her back in cloth and not lose my lunch. Instead of dunking the diaper in the toilet you simply toss the flushable liner in the toilet and flush and throw the diaper in the diaper pail. I will let you all know how I like them. They are pretty affordable- about 6.00 for 100 of them.
I also ordered much to my excitement my first bamboo diaper.

Once in a while Keira gets crazy and goes through a healthly phase.. sort of like Uncle Aram. Here she is gobbling up baby greens, cukes and fresh tomatoes. I have never seen her eat salad with such gusto so we had to take a pic! ( daddy is responsible for doing the salad prep in case anyone is wondering- The only healthy thing I crave is fruit-definately not veggies)

You know you are spending too much time leaning over the toilet bowl when you toddler walks up to the toilet, sticks her head in and makes gagging and puking noises. She then leaves the bathroom and returns with her dolls, sticks their heads in the toilet and makes gagging noises. Then she says "Sick, Sick!"
Between the lack of spring like weather and the fact that I am on week 6 of feeling like total crud I might just lose my mind completely. Stay tuned.

More white stuff

After another 55 degree weather day yesterday we awoke to yet another snowstorm..... beautiful or not I have to say I am sick of it!!!! Patches of grass were appearing and the air was starting to get a bit milder. Winter is so long here!!!!!!!!! Still trying to convince my hubby that a move south might be nice, not too far south. Virgina, North Carolina, maybe even PA.....

Old bedroom turned into a playroom

We left the changing table in the playroom because I am way to lazy to go upstairs every time she needs to be changed. We haven't decided where we will put the new baby just yet... There is another room right next to Keira's new room ( on the second floor) that also needs a major over haul. If they baby is a boy we might start that project. If the baby is a girl she will probably be in our room in a crib until 6 months or so and then move in with Keira. We will find out the sex at our 18-20 week ultrasound.

Its still a bit bare We need to hang a few things on the walls... and get a mattress for her big girl bed.

Keira in her carseat going round and round. She is a little big for it, but loves it. I think she will like Rollercoasters when she gets older.

Its a big day in our house....

Keira went pee on the potty!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I am just a bit excited???? She went into the bathroom herself and got her potty seat and said "poopy... poppy" I got ready to sit her on the toilet and noticed she had already gone in her diaper. Oh well she was close. I sat her on the potty and about 3 min later she peed. She was all excited too!!! For her efforts she was given a chocolate chip.

The midwives

So last night Mike and Keira and I traveled to Milford to meet the midwives ( we actually met one of the 2) at the birth center. http://www.birthcottage.com/
They do home births as well as births at their birthing center. We toured the place and sat and interviewed one of the midwifes and her student. Its a very family friendly place. They had toys everywhere and Keira was happy to walk around and play. They had a very low c section rate ( < 2%) where the national average is 3o something % and don't do inductions. After the baby is born it is left alone to nurse and bond with mom and dad for a full hour before being weighed and measured and all that. If you have the baby at the birthing center they send you home a few hours after giving birth and then come to your house the next few days to check on things and make sure the baby is nursing well etc. Both Mike and I were very impressed. We haven't made a final decision yet but I expect we will within the next few days. We will keep you all posted!!!

Gotta love the economy.....

Just when we thought we had things figured out and were about to go look for cars and possible try to put our house on the market.... Mike came home from work with the news that due to the bad state of economy everyone in the company is getting a decrease in salary. It really puts a damper on things- but I guess if you put it all into perspective we should just be thankful he has a job. Oh well. Gotta go look for more ways to save money I guess.

We have probably 10-12 inches and its still snowing!!!! Its almost time for round 2 of snow blowing. I'm sure Mike is dreading it..... :o)
