a bunch of granite

One of Mike's co-workers brought it to his attention that there was some free granite on the side of the road. Mike went to investigate and brought some home. There are all solid granite pieces- counter top remnants. I have no idea at the moment what we will do with it all.. but its was free and granite definitely isn't cheap for sure so we will think of something. There are a few pieces that are the right size for a garden bench. If we ever did a water feature in the backyard I was thinking that taking a hammer to some of the pieces might make some pretty pebbles to surround a waterfall or small fish pond. Next summer's projects!!!!

Keira and daddy were being silly last night with this blanket.

leaves

Growing up in the Midwest, we had 2 huge trees in our front lawn that dropped thousands of leaves every fall. I have some great memories of raking leaves, making HUGE leaf piles and jumping in the leaves. Its just tradition. Every fall you play in the leaves. At our house now we have a few baby trees that we planted and are sort of surrounded by trees from our neighbors yard but not that many leaves actually end up in our yard for some reason- apparently they blow the other way. Either way its hard to get a decent pile of leaves. I tried to show Keira the joy of jumping in the leaves and miss messy herself didn't seem to enjoy having leaves stuck to her. She didn't enjoy sitting in the leaves or being buried in them. Oh well.. maybe she will like the snow that I am sure is just around the corner.

Perfection!!!

2 Apple crumble pies. One is for Mike's Poker night and one is for a certain couple's engagement party.

What a beautiful fall day

At least once a day while we are outside playing Keira goes over to our neighbors house , climbs there steps, and sits on there front steps. She walks up to the steps saying "sit sit" and sit she does.

ohhhhh- a puddle!

Caught!

Keira loves to play with my dish washing gloves... and often they seem to disappear. This morning I caught her stuffing them in the heater!!!!

And not long after that I found an entire bag of pretzels dumped all over the floor. This child is getting a bit mischievous!!
"utttt ohhhhh" she says.. with a look of " I didn't do it"

new

Keira has 2 new teeth that seem to be finally appearing after about 3 months of heavy drooling!!! They are her first molars and both of them are on top. Yes very exciting indeed! Now she has 10 teeth and 10 to go.

Comfort food

It was a rainy day so of course I baked something. Yummy pumpkin muffins.

2 Cuties

Keira and Sarah. Hanging out, hitting each other, stealing each others toys, saying NO NO NO to each other. Just another toddler playdate.

Keira's room update

The drywall is done and today the guy comes to mud!!!!!!! Yes Mike hired someone to tape and mud because he HATES drywall and after putting it all up he doesn't want to tape and mud. Getting closer to finishing and having a playroom!!

I left Keira in her room to play while I started supper ( aka 5 min)... she was in just a diaper and a diaper cover. I came back 5 min later and she was NAKED!!!! She had removed the diaper and the cover! It was a velco closure type of cloth diaper so it didn't require that much work but still! Crazy child. She was all proud of herself too.

Keira

Keira has been very into her "be-bee's" lately. She carries them around by their hair, feeds them, says shhhh when they are sleeping and now likes us to swaddle them. Mike showed her the swaddle thing this weekend. She now brings me a baby several thousand times a day and a blanket for me to swaddle it. Then as soon as the baby is swaddled she turns the blanket upside down and shakes the baby out and brings it to me to swaddle again!
