Keira and I walked to Wal mart this am.... and since her shoes were still wet from playing in the puddles she wore her snow boots. Yes in September. Just another thing I always thought I would never do....( let my child wear clothes that don't match or go with the season)

like let my kids walk around barefoot all the time ( yup Keira does that)

Walk around my house eating and dropping crumbs ( trying to cure Keira of this one)

having boogies stuck to her nose ( yes seasonal allergy queen always seems to have nose crusties no matter how many times a day I clean her face)

eat in the car= food crumbs ALL over the car and the car seat ( yup Keira does this too)

nurse past 12 months ( yup still nursing at 16 months old)

Truck

Since I am sure you all are dying to know!!! I took the truck for its inspection yesterday and it passed! Which means we get to keep the beater truck for another year at least.

Keira

Keira's toy of choice the past few days are her Strawberry shortcake boots. She is working on being able to walk in them before the snow comes. Her favorite word of choice now is "NO" She says it for no reason whatsoever. I hear her playing in her room and she is just saying no no no over and over again. Despite us trying to teach her No THANK YOU.... she just says NO. She also hits now too.... but so far its pretty gentle. She likes to beg for food and then when you get it out of the fridge, wash it and cut it she looks at it and hands it back to you... like that's nice but I am all set.... I think that is all that is new in the Keira department.

Im such an idiot!

Its been a busy weekend!
Saturday I left Keira with daddy and went shopping at the outlets and stocked up on good deals! Old Navy had some great sales and I was able to get clothes for less than 1 dollar!!! Saturday night Mike and I went to see a great movie called Fireproof. Its a great and HILARIOUS movie about marriages. Go see it!
Today we went wayyyyy up to the boondocks.. I mean to Newport to see Keira's new cousin who is sooooo tiny and cute. Because Newport is pretty far north from where we are there was some AMAZING foliage... lots of reds and oranges and yellows. Of course I forgot the camera so no pretty pics of the new baby or of the beautiful trees. We even saw a rainbow on the way home. I am so mad I forgot the camera!!!!!

You know...

you are poor and haven't grocery shopped for a month when you make Lentil and Barley soup and call it dinner simply because there really isn't any other food to eat. I am working on emptying my cabinets- really working on it. We haven't had any bread in the house in well over a week. We have no deli meat, cheese or anything to make a sandwich with- not that it would matter since we have no bread. We have like 2 eggs. We have plenty of apples and beef though.
I am boycotting grocery shopping. I HATE HATE HATE grocery shopping. It seems like such a waste of money to me.
The grocery store is literally 1 min away so I don't have an excuse. I just want to see how long I can go without grocery shopping. I figure I save money that way.
I think Mike is going to kill me ... his least favorite foods are tuna and lentils ( not together of course). We have had macaroni and cheese with tuna and peas twice this week and lentils for dinner tonight.
Mike was home for lunch... he saw the crock pot, lifted the lid and said "OHHHHH no!!!!" Hey- I made enough lentil and barley soup for at least 3 meals.... that's like 15 cents a meal!!! :o)

Thursday

Our church has a Mom's Connection..... a woman's group of sorts. This was the first meeting/playdate of the year. A bunch a moms and kids got together in the church basement with toys and snacks. Good Times!!

I think Keira is finally doing the one nap a day thing... Just 2 weeks ago I had tried it with no luck-- she was to tired. But this week she hasn't been tired till about noonish- She doesn't sleep that long. Usually and hour or so and she is good to go until 630ish and then its bedtime. I am sure some days she will do 2 naps but 1 nap is easier for me... we can go and do more things and not have to be home twice a day for naps!

Its Fall in New England!

There is just a bit of color in the leaves already!


Nothing says fall around here like the Apple Orchard. We were supposed to go to a play date today but since Keira is still sporting a cold we stayed away so we don't infect anyone else. I took her to the apple orchard instead. She had fun looking the at goats and ducks and eating free apple slices. We stocked up on fresh apples, pears, and (YUMMY!!!) peaches!

We got there super early.. just after they opened and so there were very few people there. Keira pushed her stroller around and around for like 20 min... The ducks and company ( a few other birds that I have no idea what they are) were making lots of noise and flapping there wings.... Keira seemed interested for a second and then she noticed the duck pond and WATER!!!! She wanted to go swimming with the ducks... didn't matter that it was 50 degrees out, the pond was mucky looking and filled with ducks or that there was plenty of stuff to do and see ( ANIMALS!!!) she wanted in the water. Yes my crazy child threw a tantrum because I wouldn't let her go swimming in the duck pond!!!! This kid is so obsessed with water! She had taken a extra long bath this morning because I had hoped the steamy air would clear out her clogged nose.... and she gets a bath every night before bed now.

Yesterday I put her kiddie pool in the shed because every single time we go outside she goes right to the pool and pats it and says "Pool, Pool" And when I try to explain that its to cold out for the pool there are tears!!! Poor child.. she isn't going to get to go swimming for a long time!

Keira's birthday present for next year! :o)

Nothing to crazy going on around here. Keira has a cold and has leaky eyes and a runny nose.. add some major drooling to that mix and she is quite the mess! Yesterday Keira's birthday present came in the mail... yes her birthday isn't until June.... but that pool with the slide was on sale at Target.com for 4.99 with free shipping!!! It was too good a deal to pass up. Besides I like to shop early. I am almost done with Christmas shopping too!

Daddy's Birthday

We had a little birthday party for Mike with this family today. Keira had a blast playing with her cousins and eating ALL afternoon. I think her favorite part was the cake. I brought a wheat, soy dairy free cupcake with choc frosting for her to eat while we all ate Mike's birthday cake. She made a huge mess as you can see.

Best babysitter of the year award...

Not only did she babysit so that Mike and I could have some much needed "hang out together time" last night, she baked this super super yummy dessert for us while we were gone. Okay to be fair- Hippert helped I think.. or at least I know he went shopping to get the needed ingredients.

Anyways after a few rounds of bowling and a trip to Lowes (of course) and a trip to get a Slurpie( of course) we came home and had yummy dessert.

More exciting news...

Again thanks to Hippert , Mike was able to get the insulation done in Keira's new room. The next step is drywall, then paint, install the floor and built in bookshelves, lights etc and its ready for move in day!!!!!!!

Yipppeee

Mike fixed the truck today thanks to Hippert and Mike's cousin. Ill take it to get inspected this week and hope it passes!!!!

Happy Birthday Mike!!!

Mike is 27 years old today! Old Man!!! Per Mike's request I made his favorite dinner ( spaghetti) Keira enjoyed it too!
