Just a few more
I bought 8 more Indian Pre folds ( Cloth diapers for those of you that don't know the lingo) off of a woman on an online forum. They arrived today. Now I have a total of 20 diapers. Should be enough to do diaper laundry every 2 days or so. Keira wears disposables when we go out anywhere and at night. I am using cloth wipes too. I bought a pack of 10 washcloths at Target on sale for 1.89 and cute them into 4ths ( since they were wayyyy to big to use as a wipe). So I have 40 cloth wipes. I keep an old wipes box on the changing table filled with water, baby soap and baby oil. When I change her diaper I just dip a wipe in the water/soap mixture, wipe off her bum and toss the wipe into the diaper pail. I am not totally convinced that using cloth diapers saves money..... because of the washing, drying, extra laundry soap etc... obviously its better for the environment. But the wipes will save money for sure. I feel like I was always buying a big pack of baby wipes!

Okay, I'm in love with the cloth wipe idea! We go through (and waste!) too many wipes and have for the last 7 years! What is the ratio of water to soap to oil? We are getting ready to buy ANOTHER case of wipes, but I want to try this first!
Do the diapers have to be washed on their own or can you throw them in with your regular laundry???
These dipes are already"prepped" with many washings so I am just gonna wash them once with my other dipes and we will be good to go.
You can google homemade baby wipes... there are lots of recipes out there. I honestly don't measure. I fill a wipes box maybe 1/4 full of water .. throw in a squirt of baby oil and a squirt of johnsons head to toe baby wash. The one thing about the wipes is if you put them in the container and fold them up like regular disposable wipes... I have read online that people have problems with mildew ( if they sit in there for more than a day) ... GROSS.. so I only dip the wipe I am going to use in the mixture- ( otherwise I store them dry in a basket right next to the wipes box) Don't store more than a days worth of wipes in there.
You are too funny with your (Keira's) diapers! =)
