So our contract with our Realtor expires the beginning of August. At that point our house will have been on the market for 6 months. So far 7 showings, zero offers and multiple price reductions. We haven't decided if we will keep it on the market past August or take it off the market and maybe re list it in the spring. We can't really drop the price much more as than we will lose money.
The foreclosures are really killing us I think. Houses are being sold for over 100,000 less than they are assessed for which is insane. Its impossible to compare comps either. There are identical capes to ours that are similar condition, lot size, square footage etc that are selling for 50,000 more than our house is listed for and those that are selling for 20,000 less than our house. We try to stay optimistic ( not my strong point!) but the reality is its a great time to buy with historic low interest rates and houses that we normally could never afford being in our price range. We so want to go out and look and hopefully buy! Its hard to see houses that we love being sold. We know God has a plan but its so hard to be patient while you try to figure it all out.
Meanwhile everyone is happy, healthy, growing and thriving and that's whats most important!! We are blessed !
