Springtime weather!!

Mike is shoveling the snow in the street in this picture... not really sure why- Keira hangs out in the driveway and wonders why she isn't cold....

We had to take advantage of the nice warm and balmy 55 degree weather today.

Our other exciting news....

We got new furniture!!!!! Well... new used furniture!!!!! I saw this couch at a thrift store Friday night.. I made Mike go look at it today and measure it so see if it would fit in the door. We also got a new red chair- see above pic!!!! Our other furniture was kindly donated to us when we bought our house as we couldn't afford to buy new furniture but it was rather "dated." I am super psyched to have new furniture!!!!

Keira and her Godfather playing... :o)

Goodbye wall....

Now we have an open concept kitchen and living room. The wall between the rooms is all gone!!!! It makes the house SEEM so much bigger. Thanks to all the guys that helped Mike lift that huge and heavy beam!! Thanks so much to Alexis and Sarah who let Keira and I crash at their place while Mike and crew worked. Keira and I were thankful to be out of the way from all the noise and mess!!

Feeling fat and lazy... :o)

Okay- Maybe I ate to much sugar last night.. I just read my brother and sister in laws blog-
http://kalpakgian.blogspot.com/
Today they posted about how they went for a "nice long run" this morning.
Did I mention that my other brother and sister in law also "run" daily? Along with my dad, 2 other brothers. etc- so basically I am the only one in the family who doesn't "run" Of course no one in Mike's family even attempts to walk- never mind run.. but still.. My family tends to make me feel guilty.. Yeah I used to 'run"- I even ran a half marathon once... and I walk- sometimes.. almost daily when its not winter out. This time of year I can't remember the last time I went outside never mind got some exercise. Ugghh- I'm still feeling fat and I am not pregnant or PMSing..
Heads up Mike- I think I am going to throw away all the sugar and we are having lentil soup for dinner.....
Although.. I just had a thought- who needs to exercise when you are breastfeeding- I manage to burn 800+ calories a day without leaving the house or breaking a sweat.... so maybe that counts for something??

Next thing on the budget....

NEW WINDOWS!!!!! I know it was -1 degrees last night but seriously- When we woke this morning there was ice on the window- on the inside!!!! Yikes..... I am thinking pretty new windows with grillwork and that pop out feature that makes the window easy to clean!!!!!!

3 days into the new year....

Ideas of dieting go out the window... It had been at least a week since we made cookies and there wasn't anything sweet and homemade in the house- I told Mike I was craving sugar and the story goes down hill from there... First there is the rice crispy treats- Then chocolate brownies- and just in case that isn't enough Mike put marshmallows on the brownies for an extra fix- and just in case that doesn't satisfy we have cool whip for the brownies too. Wasn't one of my resolutions to gain 10 lbs- or was it to lose 10 lbs? I don't remember.

Listen Up..

If you are trying to get someone's attention this is what you do.....

Whose your daddy???

Mike and I are excited that as Keira gets older she is starting to look less like her Uncle Matt and more like her mama and daddy. :o)

Kangaroo Karrier

This is a Kangaroo Karrier that a friend is letting me borrow.. I thought it might be helpful to use while flying to Iowa that way I have my hands free for luggage, etc- There is a slight problem- Holding Keira this close to her food supply means she ... um.. always want to eat!!!! I might have to come up with something else.....

Temp walls

These are the temp walls Mike and Hippert built yesterday - to keep the house from caving in when the rest of the old wall is removed and the new and big beam is installed. Then we will have our open concept kitchen and living room!!!

Happy New Year and.....

Happy 7 months Keira!!!!!

Anyone have any good New Year's resolutions???
I have a few and some excuses that go with them.
1. Eat a little more healthily - as in eat more fruits and veggies and less sugar and dessert (This is hard to do because SOMEONE keeps buying candy and making desserts and won't eat certain healthy foods like beans)
2. Exercise more (this is hard to do because its freezing cold and snowy out and I can't take Keira out if its less than 25 degrees or windy)
3. Lose 10 lbs- Can't do this very easily because since I am breastfeeding I am always hungry.
4. Get rid of some more clutter in our house ( this is hard to do because SOMEONE gets alot of magazines and keeps all of them- (they have good ideas in them!!! :o))
5.Find a way to spend less money on bills, energy, food etc- If anyone has any good ideas let me know. Our last electric bill was $ 122 dollars!! Keep in mind the main living space that we use is 650 sq feet!! Yikes- I have switched to air drying all my clothes except sheets, but all of our appliances are old and definitely not energy efficient especially our 75 year old deep freeze. I like lights and I hate darkness so if its daytime I do like to keep the lights on in the room I am in.
6. Watch less TV- ohh wait I don't watch TV really......
7. Find a way to afford all natural and organic meats, dairy, and produce....
hmmm that is all I can think of at the moment!!!

Turns out I was right!!!

Well I am sure you all know that I have been complaining that we have had WAY to much snow this past December- Turns out we haven't had this much snow in December in New Hampshire in 131 years !!!! We have had 44.5 inches of snow in the past month!!!!! With more snow expected for today..... I wonder if we will set any records for January??
In other (sad and disappointing news) New Hampshire now recognizes "Civil Unions" along with 3 other states- Vermont, Connecticut, and New Jersey. :o(
