Wrong Part and tax refunds

I know I know. This blog is lame lately. Mike ordered a new motherboard for my computer and it arrived yesterday.. only it wasn't a motherboard but some other random computer part. They had sent the wrong part. So the real part should be arriving today and I should have my card reader and all that installed hopefully by tonight. We shall see.
Mike and I have been busy debating what to do with our tax return. We haven't filed yet as we are still waiting for the necessary paperwork but we are pretty sure it will be a nice chunk of change. We were hoping to replace all our windows that haven't been replaced yet as well as the side and front doors and the sliding door in the back of the house. However b/c we are going to pay someone to do it its going to cost around $7,000 to do it. Mike has to take 2 weeks of unpaid vacation this year ( everyone has to at his company this year) so to be smart we should probably put some of that tax return in savings. So we aren't sure if we will just replace the doors for now and wait on the windows or vice versa. Both are really bad and both will save us in energy costs when fixed. What to do???! Of course we could always use the money to put on a new deck or refinish the basement or remodel the other room on the second floor... or on landscaping or to replace the rest of the rotting fence in our yard!!!

ahh, the endless possibilities...savor your tax return this year because it may dwindle next year, and the next year, and the next year...

I know what we're doing... saving it! I took this semester off so we could spent it, plus my summer off, saving money.

I wish that were true! Once you reach a certain number of kids it becomes one deduction and it never goes up. Learned that one the hard way!
