Nairi's allergies

We recently had Nairi tested for a nut allergy because she had a facial rash after eating pesto and told me her mouth felt sick after eating a cookie that  had walnuts in it. Considering the family history ( Keira had a peanut allergy until about 4 years of age) we decided to have her tested just to be sure. She came back allergic to peanuts, hazelnuts, and walnuts. The peanuts are the lowest. Dr said she could become more allergic or less allergic as she grows. We will retest next year and for now she must avoid all nuts and peanuts ( which are a legume) because nuts are produced in facilities with other nuts. And just to be safe we must carry a Epi Pen again.

Keira's school Christmas show

This was the only shot I was able to get. She was a sheep. A very cute sheep I might add.
The show was in the church. Nairi thought church behavior was appropriate and it was so cute to see her watching the show with her hands folded like this. Her and Israel were singing the Christmas carols along with everyone else.

Happy 9 Months Samuel

9 months already! Our first baby to hit the 9 month mark and not have any teeth. We gave him his first haircut with the clippers today ( he has had about 3 haircuts already!)

Front entry floor redo- before and after

Before front entry. Stained  I mean lovely white carpet. Makes sense for a door entry way right???

After!! The floor flows seamlessly from the kitchen to the front door.

We love it. So easy to clean.

Better late than never! Thanksgiving 2013

Christmas tree 2013

This is the first year of our marriage we have gated the tree. Not sure why/ how we have not needed to before but this year it was a must. We are going light on the house decorations this year as the house is pretty much a mess do to the kitchen floor construction.

Kitchen floor phase one complete

After a little bit of work ( I'm talking about Mike of course) on Thanksgiving and a full day on Friday and Saturday and a little bit on Sunday the kitchen part of the floor is finished. There is still lots of trim and transition pieces etc but we are thrilled with the way it looks. This weekend its on to phase 2 of the project. The front hallway...

Its been awhile project wise...

So since last March when we put the mudroom together and the new flooring in the mudroom hallway has looked like this.  We planned on doing this floor in the kitchen but well last spring we frankly ran out of money. So we left it like this. No use wasting money on a transition piece since we knew just a few months later we would be ripping it up. So we are finally ready to finish this project. Last time we ordered the flooring from Home Depot it look over 3 months to come in. So we figured we would order it now and maybe do it after Christmas. No one wants their house a mess over Christmas!. Well this time the flooring took ust a few days so here we are with stacks of boxes of flooring all over the house. Its time to get it done. Good bye faux vinyl wood floor!!

The other part that really excited me is there will be some more ripping up of 20 year old white carpet. Who puts white carpet by a door? Its NH. Two of our seasons are snow and mud, along with summer and fall. :o) So the plan is to put down the floor into the kitchen and extending down this front hallway all the way to the front door and at the bottom of the stairs.  The trickiest part is going to be getting someone here to unhook the gas stove since Mike doesn't want to touch the gas line and then coming back  the next day to hook it back up.

Growing boys

I took the boys in for Israel's 4 year and Samuel's 6 month check up. Samuel is 7 1/2 months actually. Israel finally hit the 30 lbs mark at 4 and Samuel is 17lbs 1 oz at 7 months. He remains our biggest baby. Nairi and Israel were 17 lbs at 12 months and Keira was 17 lbs at 9 months.

Kids and Leaves

I love how she stoops down to his level to talk to him. She coos to him just like a mother would and always makes him smile.
