Just in case...

anyone is amused by the whole car drama... after jump starting the Jetta for a second time yesterday it refused to start again last night!!!! Apparently it needs a new battery (even though the one in there is no more than 2 years old) Mike is headed out there now to jump start it for the 3rd time in 3 days and then off to Auto Zone to get a new battery. This is the last and final straw for the poor Jetta. Considering we have spent $500 in repairs, registration and inspections in the past 3 months if this doesn't do the trick the Jetta will be someone else's problem and we will be poorer than ever with a car payment!

A rare treat

Since today is my birthday..... we went out last night to a brand new Lebanese restaurant in town with friends Matt and Alexis. The food was delicious and we had a great time. Thanks Matt and Alexis and Mike!!! :o)

And while we were gone.... Little miss K decided she didn't want to go to sleep so I let Memere deal with her. For the first time in her 17 1/2 months of life someone besides mama or daddy put Keira to bed.

Baby Legs

Ever since we started cloth diapers I have wanted to get Keira some Baby Legs... they are baby leg warmers. They are super cute and with cloth since you do have to change diapers more often its so much easier to have her wear leggings than pants because then you don't have to take the pants off and put them on ( thus making diaper changes seconds longer which is very important when changing a toddler since they can't sit still!!!) So here are her new leggings. I also got her some new slippers since I ruined her other pair by washing them in hot water.

ahh more fun

So we got the Jetta fixed Thurs for $75 which we were very grateful that that's all it cost. All the mechanic did is disconnect the electrical part that thinks the door is always open. Basically he turned the sensor off. He said it would be almost 400 to fix the stupid thing. No thanks. But because its tied in with all the interior lights you have to make sure all the interior lights are always off when the car is off- they don't go out by themselves anymore like they used too. Mike well apparently left one on yesterday. I got Keira all bundled up and changed and we went out to go to the Chiropractor... I buckled Keira into her car seat and went to start the car yesterday and realized yet again it was dead. It was like Deja vu!!!! Poor Keira started chiming Bye Bye a million times which she does every time you put her coat and shoes on. Once again I said "Its broken.." to which she changed her tune and started chanting "Broken, Broken" over and over.
So Mike spent his Saturday morning jump starting not 1 but 2 cars. I guess its a good thing we broke down and bought jumper cables last year!!!!

Water play

Our little water bug was going through water withdrawl so I got creative. She loved it and when I finally took it all away she threw a major tantrum. She played with the water for like an hour and soaked 4 towels and her entire outfit.

uggg

You know its really cold out when you have not 1 but 2 cars that won't start!!!! Yes that was my life today. Keira and I were supposed to go to a play date with other mama's and kids at our church. I went out to start the car and it wouldn't start. Then I tried to start the truck and it wouldn't start either!
A big thanks to my brother in law ( who got out of bed) to help me jump start the car, take it to the auto shop and drop Keira and I back off at the house!!! Its been a crazy day. Yes just one day after the Jetta FINALLY passes inspection it decides to die yet again. We are awaiting the call from the auto shop to give us an estimate of what needs to be done now.. we are guessing its an electrical thing that has something to do with the fact that the car thinks the door is always open and beeps the whole time you are driving to tell you this. Maybe b/c the car's brain thinks the door is open it leaves the interior light on and that drained the battery? Or maybe its just to darn cold here ( which I agree with) for the stupid thing to start. I dunno. But I do know that we just spent 3oo getting it fixed about 2 months ago, plus the inspection that had to be done twice.... hopefully its cheap this time. We don't want to put another several hundred dollars into a dying car.

Going local

Keira climbing out of the milk crate.

After reading the book- Animal, Vegtable, Miracle- we have decided to go as local as we can with our food. Today we got our first delivery of NH cage free eggs. ( www.nhmilk.com)They were delivered to our doorstep by a friendly milk man who also brought us 2 1/2 gallons of milk in glass jars. The milk isn't for us as no one in this house can tolerate milk..... its for one of Mike's co workers. Its also local and antibiotic and hormone free of course. All of our meat is already local ( from NH and ME), hormone and antiboitoic free - and we are moving towards getting grassfed beef as well as cage free chicken.
