Its slowly getting warmer out........

First day of Spring

Keira was supposed to wear "spring" clothes too school for the first day of Spring. So she wore a sundress with winter clothes under it.
Every am at school Keira writes me a love note on the back of her morning work.

Samuel's Dump Truck Birthday and Nairi's Hello Kitty Birthday.

Samuel is 2!!! He wanted a dump truck birthday so thats what he got. This is the same cake Mike made for Israel when he turned 2.
 Dump Truck dirt cake
Nairi is turning 4 and she wanted a Hello Kitty birthday. Their birthdays are 8 days apart.

The theme was a combo of Hello Kitty and trucks

2 year olds are fun to watch when they open presents

Keira's First Confession

Waiting in line for her first confession at Ste Marie's. She was nervous but still smiling. Afterwards she literally skipped all the way to the front of the church with a huge smile on her face ( the confessionals are in the back). Next up is First Communion on Easter!

Laundry room mini- make over

Our laundry "room" is squished into a closet in our first floor bathroom. Its so small that I couldn't even get far enough away to get a decent picture.  So this project started because A) Mike was on vacation this week and Mike can't sit still and B) our furnace condensation  line  that runs to the outside of the house froze one night when it was -25 outside. It happens at least once every winter. Mike decided that since we had to do something about it we might as well run a new line that doesn't run to the outside. The new line drains via the wash machine drain so that required moving the wash machine and getting lines run and cutting holes into places etc. So since that was going on Mike figured why not just stack the washer and dryer and create some custom shelving. We store alot of cleaning supplies and such on shelves above the wash machine. Since we always have a toddler in the house I don't want any chemicals under the bathroom or kitchen sink.
So above is the before pictures and below the afters. Again its hard to get a decent picture because the bathroom is tiny.

It came out great and there is so much room on the shelves because they are so deep.

Allergy testing for Nairi

A year and half ago Nairi was diagnosed with a tree nut ( walnuts and hazelnuts) allergy and a peanut allergy. We repeated her blood work in April and her peanuts were at a normal level and her hazelnuts had jumped way up. She had also started showing some signs of season allergies. 2 weeks ago we did skin testing for environmental allergies and a peanut oral challenge.  Seasonal allergies can start at age 3 and Nairi is 3. Her skin testing revealed that she is allergic to cats, trees and cockroaches. Because she is so young these can change.
Keira had a peanut oral challenge so this wasn't the first time we have done this. They rub it on her lips and then wait... Here she is getting her peanut butter lipstick. She passed with no  problems.
Her back after the skin testing.  The reason her hazelnuts were so high ( the Dr suspects) is because she is also allergic to trees and there can be cross sensitivity between some trees like birch and hazelnuts.
