Oh happy day...
http://betterdiy.blogspot.com/2011/09/basement-workshop.html
Mikes wildest dream has come true. We now have a spray foamed basement.
And just in case you all think I am a mean and unfeeling wife who does nothing exciting for her husband's 30th birthday. This workshop( that comes with a more than $2,000 price tag) is Mike's 30th birthday gift. ( the 2,000 is not just for the spray foam but also for the walls, lighting, dust collection system etc) And I am giving him time to build it so yes indeed I get wife of the year award. :o) Jk!

AND.......... she moves!!!!!!
At 5 months and 10 days old Nairi has started crawling. Its a weird half inchworm half army crawl kinda crawl but she can do it and is quickly getting better at it. If she sees something she wants she goes after it and gets it! I'm hoping that she will allow herself to be out of my arms a bit more now that she can explore. Its kinda of funny that Keira who was our only back sleeper crawled at 9 months and Israel and Nairi who were both tummy sleepers since birth crawled before or around 6 months. Being on their tummies defintily helps them develope their trunk muscles for sure! She can also sit now by herself. She falls over still so we don't leave her on her own sitting just yet but i'm excited for these milestones !
Happy 23 months Israel

Random stuff
I think its almost time for a haircut. Its getting crazier and crazier. Kinda crazy that my 4 month has more hair than most 2 year olds.
Flooding from Hurricane/ Tropical Storm Irene. Turned out to be nothing much. Winds around 30-50 mph and lots of rain and a very dark sky. But thankfully we did not lose power or have any fallen trees.

Reading boy
Last week Israel just suddenly started speaking in sentences. He had been putting 2 and 3 words together for a bit but suddenly he is talking as much as Keira. One day last week I had left the pantry unlocked and Israel was in the pantry getting into snacks. Mike said to him.. " What are you doing? You know you aren't supposed to be in there. Please get out of the pantry!" Israel says " Wait a second.. I getting something!" Mike about died laughing. Its so funny hear this teeny tiny little boy talking so well. 22 months old and talking up a storm. It definitely makes life easier though that he can communicate so well. Less frustration all around. He also is really into "reading." He sits down and flips through the book and says " I reading mama!"
Nairi
is a crazy rolling girl. She rolls both ways now easily, babbles constantly, and can put toys in her mouth. She sleeps pretty good at night actually sleeping from 8ish to 4 or 5 am most nights which is totally awesome I have to say..... Life with the 3 of them is getting a tad easier.. just a tad. She still screams in the carseat and isn't content anywhere unless someone is talking to her or holding her. If she gets unlimited attention than she is good though.

Basic stuff
We aren't currently working on any more exciting projects. Mike wants to get his workshop unpacked and put together and before we can do that he wants to get the basement insulated. After many phone calls that weren't returned, we finally got a guy here today to give us an estimate on getting the basement and possibly the attic spray foamed. Mike has a bit of an obsession with insulation, in fact for a while last winter insulation was a banned topic in our house because Mike talked about it so much I couldn't stand to talk about it anymore! But here we are with a different house and again the topic of insulation comes up. So we are waiting to hear back on the amount of cash it would cost to get some spray foam done. If we can get that done that Mike can frame in his workshop and hang some dry wall. We aren't finishing the basement per say but we do want to close it off so the dust doesn't get all over the entire basement.
We are also contemplated getting our hot water tank/ water heater replaced to a tank less system. It needs to be replaced anyways. Its on borrowed time and if it goes its a plumbing emergency and will cost $$.
And we are still working on the front yard. There was/ is so much over grown plants, flowers, shrubs etc. We have removed, trimmed and cut back many many bushes and shrubs, spread lots of mulch. We planted a sugar maple tree in the front yard and the thing I am most excited about ( drum roll please) we had irrigation installed in the front. No more hoses and sprinklers everywhere and dead grass.
So even though we don't have any exciting pictures and stories about projects we are ALWAYS working on something. We kinda have a remodeling/redecorating addiction. :o)
