After over 365 days

of dealing with showings and showings and frustration and headaches and waiting waiting waiting we can officially say we have sold our house!!!!!!!!!! Well for the most part. As long as everything goes okay with the inspection ( which it should since Mikes knows every sq inch of this house inside and out) we moving on to greener pastures.. or should I say larger pastures?
We had a renter secured and were ready to sign the lease with them when a couple that had looked at our house months ago ( when it was on the market) made a random low ball offer on the house. We negotiated a bit and the deal was done. We are losing money of course being that housing prices are the lowest they have been in the past 9 years but say la vie I guess.
I can't even describe how excited I am to double ( and then some) our sq footage!!!!!!!!!

After spending the last almost 4 years home full time with the kids and in about 646 sq feet I can honestly say that space will feel heavenly. It has felt so cramped in our house lately. We have 1000 sq feet but since the second floor is 90% sloped ceilings ( b/c our house is a cape) where you can not stand up straight its not truly 1000 sq feet of space.
And so the house hunt continues. Mike and I made 4 offers on houses in the past few weeks under the impression that we were renting our current house but none of those deals went through so we continue to look and negotiate and hopefully we will find what we are looking for.
2000-2600 sq feet, 2 car garage, newer colonial style house, large family room and dining room ( or eat in kitchen), fireplace, enough backyard for our massive swing set we have yet to put up, and walkable subdivision/neighborhood, and within 20 min of K's preschool and private Catholic school we hope to send her too. And of course Mike's requirements, natural gas heat ( no oil!), central ac ( this one is important for both of us), public water and sewer, and within 20ish min to his work.
Ill miss some things about this house for sure. We have lots of happy memories here. Israel was born here in the kitchen... :o), and this house is super easy to clean and cheap to heat. Ill miss being less than 5 min from the grocery store, doc office, post office, pharmacy, Target, Wal mart, Lowes, the park, church etc etc! But at the same time I'm excited to see our next house and to move on. We plan on staying in the city but doubtg we will be as close to everything as we are now.
Not sure how the whole packing and moving thing is going to go with preschooler, toddler, and infant but I guess we will figure that out in the process. Moving date is tentatively set for June... either beginning or end of June. Not sure yet at this point.

Oh, what happy news. Sometimes money is just that-money. It can't buy happiness and you need some room to be happier! Just in time for the delivery day too. Congrats and best wishes! Kathy Holley
