Week 24...

I went to see the midwife Tues . Baby is transverse (sideways) and flipping - which I know... he is a wild monkey.. and I guessed he was transverse based on where I feel movement.. all on the sides- nothing high or low. He has tons of time to move around but my first thought was " You better not get to comfy transverse little boy!!" His heart rate was in the 140's and I am measuring right at 24 weeks. Not that any one cares but since I am not doing a baby book this time around this is my place to right stuff down so I don't forget... Mama has gained 28 lbs- . I asked the midwife why I feel like I have been kicked in the groin permanently and she said its the weight of my soccer ball sized uterus which will only get lots worse. Gee thanks. :o)
Midwife said one of the midwives is going to a Conference Oct 20th ( there are only 2 of them) so if he is late and there is just one midwife on call and some one else is in labor Ill have to give birth at the birth center instead. I assured her that I would get this guy out on time or early ( like Keira) so no worries there!
They gave me my packet of stuff to get ready for the home birth. All supplies have to be ready, clean and in one place by 36 weeks. So when we get back from vacation ( around 30 weeks) we will be getting that stuff together as well as making some meals and throwing them in the freezer. The list is pretty standard and includes lots of the basic stuff, towels, washcloths, ice, hydrogen peroxide, thermometer and homemade chicken noodle soup. Gotta love midwives and their belief in the healing power of food and herbs. The midwives bring most of the "medical" stuff with them.

Kicked in the groin is one way to put it! I always told everyone it felt like I had someone hanging off of my crotc*! That was the best way to describe it! haha!
