Stripping diapers.....
These are all out of order so start at the bottom and read up!
clean pocket diaper inserts
clean fleece liners
clean cloth wipes
clean fitteds
Clean pre folds
step 4- hang or line dry diapers- hanging them in the sun can further brighten and freshen them but we have no sun lately so that shoots that idea! ( voila.. super clean and fresh poop catchers....)
step 2- I forgot to take pics of.. rinse diapers by hand in cold water. Then throw in wash machine for at least 4 more rinses. Then run a wash load on hot with no detergent and a tad of bleach if you really want everything clean. 2 more rinses...
Step 1- soak diapers in hot water and Dawn dish washing soap for at least 30 min. Then if you really want to get them clean. Scrub each diaper for a min or so with a soft brush or a tooth brush.
When you are bored and have a ultra sensitive nose..... you get the idea of stripping the diapers. This is the first time I have done this and we have been using cloth since last July/August. I know there are at least 3 readers that are newbie cloth users so I have charted the waters for you! Haha.. actually I found it quite fun.. but then again I enjoy laundry so call me crazy! Anyways.. all detergents leave residue on clothes... in diapers its a big deal because over time the detergents build up and then the fabric is peed and pooped in it also collects bacteria.... hence you can acquire stink issues in your diapers. I haven't really had "stink issues" but I figured its a good idea to "strip" the diapers of the detergent build up every now and then and make them a bit fresher! So here begins the process. There are several ways to do this. I did it by hand by washing my diapers in Dawn.

I seriously find this whole process fascinating! I would enjoy doing this too haha because I also enjoy laundry!
That is A LOT of work and I don't think I could do it! Good for you for sticking to it!
WOw... I just ran all the dipes through the wash with the hottest water possible plus an extra rinse each...did that three times... then dried.. can't wait to dry in the sun!! They do smell soo much better!!! Thanks for the info!
